Waccamaw Chapel Food Pantry

Serving People in Need

Waccamaw Chapel Food Pantry is here to help meet practical needs in our community. Anyone who needs assistance is welcome to come, regardless of what church they attend or whether they attend church at all.

Food is available to take home, and a hot meal is provided. We also distribute personal-care products, household necessities, clothing, and other items as they become available.

A Vision That Began in 1993

In 1993, Pastor Troy Wiley received a vision from the Lord concerning a food bank at the property in Shannon.

Years later, the Lord opened the door for that same property to be obtained. The vision had been given years before the opportunity came, but the time had finally come to begin the work.

Before the food pantry officially began, the ministry held Saturday give-back days once or twice a month, providing food, hot meals, clothing, and household goods to people in need.

Then, in January 2025, the Lord opened the door to begin Waccamaw Chapel Food Pantry.

What started with a few canned goods, a meal, and a few donated items has continued to grow. Today, people come from near and far to receive food and other necessities

A Work Done by Faith

through faith.

Waccamaw Chapel Food Pantry operates by faith.

The pantry receives no federal or state funding. What is provided comes through the faithfulness of God and the generosity of people who help make this work possible.

People come who may have no other support, including those who are temporarily between state or federal assistance. Some even walk to the pantry because they have no transportation.

We count it a blessing and a miracle to be able to serve those in need.

And we believe there is more to come.

As the need continues to grow, we are believing God to enlarge the facility and give us the privilege of doing even more.
